ATTENTION: THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN MOVED TO TUESDAY, JANUARY 17, 2006

Barring unforeseen technical difficulties, the deadline will not be moved past January 17, so please plan on adhering to this date. All 1-page abstracts for URSI and AMEREM and 4-page abstracts for APS are due on that date.

Thank you for deciding to submit your paper to the 2006 IEEE APS/URSI/AMEREM conference in Albuquerque, NM. This page provides an overview of the submission process, and links to the conferenence submission site. In order to go through the paper submission, you will need to go through the following brief stepts.

  1. Follow this link to be directed to the conference submission site.
  2. If you have not already registered yourself as a user on the system, begin by creating an account on the system. You will need to provide an email address, as well as your name and contact information. The system will automatically send you a passoword for use with the system.
  3. Log In to the system using your primary email address and password.
  4. Create a new draft submission by clicking on the button for the appropriate conference. You will need the technical topic, the paper title, full names, affiliations and emails of all authors.
  5. If you intend to enter your paper in the student paper contest, be sure to indicate that option on the bottom of the first screen.
  6. Once you complete this screen, your paper will be included in the database as a draft. At any point before submission, you may modify the details of the paper or delete the paper.
  7. From your user page, you will be able to see all of your draft papers. You can upload your abstract in PDF format from this page. Your abstract MUST comply with the IEEE PDF preparation guidelines. These guidelines, along with instructions that improve your chances of success, are provided below. When you upload your paper, it will automatically pass through a PDF compliance check. Any errors will prevent the system from accepting your abstract. If you are having trouble creating PDF that passes the compliance check, please refer to the PDF Assistance page on this site.
  8. If you are submitting an APS abstract, you must complete the electronic copyright transfer form.
  9. Once you are finished with all of the details, you have passed PDF compliance, and you have completed your copyright transfer form (if applicable), you are ready to submit your paper. IT IS IMPORTANT TO PRESS THE SUBMIT BUTTON otherwise your paper will remain in draft status and not be included in the abstract review process.
  10. Papers and copyright forms need to be submitted electronically at the Submission Entry link provided below. Instructions about these requirements are provided in below and in the templates provided in doc, pdf, and latex formats. Authors are encouraged to use these templates to generate their papers.

    Additional instructions for AP-S authors

The summary must be limited to four pages including text, references, figures, and photographs. The introduction should indicate clearly how the submission relates to previous work and the unique aspects of the current submission. An electronic copy (see below) of the summary must be submitted in final form. Figures and photographs should be a convenient size with captions typed in appropriate places. Footnotes should not be used except for credits to sponsoring agencies. It will be understood that all submissions have been cleared by the sponsoring agency.

Additional instructions for URSI and AMEREM authors

The abstract must consist of at least 250 words, and must be limited to one page, including figures. An electronic copy of the abstract must be submitted in final form. Do not include a list of references; a few open-literature references may be included parenthetically, for example: (R. L. Lewis and J. R. Johler, Radio Sci., 2, 75-81, 1976).

    Submission address and deadline

We are finalizing the web-based submission system, and it will be available soon. Please DO NOT email your abstracts, as ALL papers must be submitted through the automated system.

If you have questions, please email tpc2006@ece.unm.edu.
