Undergraduate
Grades of D and F and the Retaking of Courses
Starting in Fall 1993, a new policy will
be in effect regarding the use of "D" grades. For
students admitted to the ECE department prior to the Fall
1993 semester, up to 9 hours of "D" work may be
used to satisfy graduation requirements. However, for those
admitted for the Fall 1993 and later semesters, no "D"
grades may be used to satisfy graduation requirements. For
courses taken after the Fall 1990 semester, students have
a limited option to retake a course for a better grade and
have the old grade removed. See page 30 of the 1993-1995 UNM
Catalog for full details. In addition, the College of Engineering
has a policy that prohibits granting a B.S. degree in Engineering
if 30 or more semester hours, applicable to a degree program,
have grades of "D", "F", "WF",
or "NC". See page 227 of the 1993-1995 UNM Catalog
for more details.
