The Wireless Communications Group at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is dedicated to the development of a strong partnership between the University, Government, and Industry for high quality research, innovation, and academics. Founded in 1998 with the sole aim of establishing UNM as the leading center for teaching and research in wireless communications science and engineering in the Southwest, the Group now has an active program involving a sizeable number of faculty members and researchers. The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department comprises 34 faculty, 13 of whom are actively associated with this group. With the impending addition of new faculty and researchers, the needs of the wireless communications industry will be better served through well into the next century.
